Integrating its rising range of merchandise into engineered-to-order (ETO) solutions is more and more a way of life at Weir Minerals. The latest launch of its dredge-mounted Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump exhibits how efficient this strategy could be, and the way much it can contribute to customers’ bottom strains.

Integrated solutions are what separates gear suppliers from answer suppliers, argues Marnus Koorts, common supervisor pump merchandise at Weir Minerals Africa – and the recently launched Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump reveals how this is done.
This dredge/excavator-mounted, mud-pumping innovation was launched final year, after being developed in response to a problem which a customer faced, says Koorts. It is a heavy obligation hydraulic submersible slurry pump designed for abrasive functions and huge particle dealing with. Its utility is primarily in reprocessing and relocating tailings ponds, maintaining water retention dams and managing slimes and sludge ponds.
“The Multiflo Mudflo pump efficiently combines elements of the Warman MGS submersible slurry pump-end, and a custom Multiflo designed bearing assembly coupled to a hydraulic motor,” he says. “Another key ingredient is the pairing of twin Multiflo CB33 hydraulic cutters with Weir ESCO excavation tooth.”
The cutters mechanically agitate the settled solids, permitting abrasive and highly charged slurries and mud to be effectively pumped. He emphasises that the parts making up the Multiflo® Mudflo™ pump are drawn from Weir Minerals proven manufacturers, and are rigorously combined to produce an built-in solution that saves prospects time and money. It also reduces environmental impact, by avoiding the expensive and energy-intensive process excavating and trucking the fabric off website.
“The pump design consists of Weir Minerals’ Ultrachrome A05 chrome alloy casting for high wear resistance,” he says. “There can also be a suction strainer to prevent excessively massive particles clogging the pump.”
This ensures that the unit delivers optimum uptime alongside high performance levels: the Mudflo™ 200 pump is able to pumping between 150 m3/h and 1,200 m3/h, up to a head of eighty two metres. The pump can handle a most particle size of 80 mm, and a maximum liquid temperature of 35°C.
“While our integration of products has grown organically over the years, it has turn out to be more systematic and deliberate as our product vary has grown and turn into extra numerous,” says Koorts. “The means we now have developed this resolution exhibits the progress in current years towards integrating our product traces to add worth to our offerings.”
He notes that the process of ETO ensures that solutions developed by Weir Minerals’ engineering groups ship more value than the sum of their element parts. In this case, the company’s dewatering experts have been in a position to attract on the most effective know-how from Weir Minerals’ Multiflo®, Warman® and Weir ESCO® manufacturers – combining them with superior hydraulics to create an innovative result.
เกจวัดแรงดันน้ำ within the field and our close collaboration with prospects each day offers us a detailed understanding of their particular necessities,” he says. “We can subsequently ensure that our innovations are match for objective, being primarily based on our considerable ETO capability and technical excellence.”
