KSB completes growth of GIW’s Grovetown facility

KSB has announced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase enlargement of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.

The first two phases of the enlargement were accredited in 2013 in response to rising market demand for bigger tools. Since then, the Grovetown facility has completed upgrades, added tens of 1000’s of square feet to its foundry, increased furnace capability, accomplished development on a distribution centre, and won approval for three additional phases of improvement.
With the completion of the venture, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mold castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), increased its maximum pouring output by up to sixty six,000 lbs (30,000 kg), decreased the number of required shot blast runs by 50%, added special cleansing stations for large castings, applied new expertise and efficiency options, and doubled worker locker room amenities.
KSB went ahead with the project’s completion, regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic and its economic fallout.

In 2020, the KSB Group launched KSB Mining, a new market-driven group offering experience on centrifugal pumps to mining operations.
The expanded facilities in Grovetown function the headquarters of GIW Slurry Pumps.
GIW presently employs over 600 folks at its Grovetown facility.
